Speak Up – Framing your World with Your Words

Without faith it is IMPOSSIBLE to please God….  Hebrews 11:6

If you want to have God’s favor and be blessed, walking by faith is not just a choice or a ‘maybe.’  It’s EVERYTHING!

If faith is so important to our pleasing God, then what should we do to get it?

Let’s look at what God said to a man of faith in the Bible—Joshua.  After the death of Moses, God made Joshua the new leader of Israel.  Joshua had some big shoes to fill.  He was called by God to lead his people into a promised land filled with king-sized challenges called giants.  Joshua definitely needed some big-time faith in order to succeed.

This is what the Lord told him to do: This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your MOUTH, but you shall MEDITATE on it day and night, that you may OBSERVE AND DO according to all that is written in it.  For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success.  Joshua 1:8 AMP

The only time that the translated word “success” is found in the Bible is here in Joshua 1:8.  God gave Joshua His formula for success.

According to God, the three ingredients that are involved in achieving it are:

You must #1 SAY God’s Word out of your mouth.

You must #2 MEDITATE, or think about God’s Word.

AFTER—and only AFTER you have done this—then you will #3 OBSERVE God’s will for your life so you can DO it.

There are a lot of wild ideas out there about “visualizing” success and prosperity.  Some people have tried to dream up schemes and have devised different methods and strategies to become successful.  But true success—God’s way—is a product of meditating on and speaking God’s Word, and then following what He shows you.

Look at God’s mode of operation when He created the world:

And God SAID, Let there be light: and there was light.  And God SAW the light, that it was good…  Genesis 1:3, 4

I’m sure God meditated or thought about what He was about to create.  After determining what He wanted to happen, He then said and saw His creation take shape.  God repeated this same process all throughout creation.

And God SAID, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place… and IT WAS SO (or, He saw it).  Genesis 1:9

And God SAID, Let the earth bring forth grass… and IT WAS SO.  Genesis 1:11

And God SAID, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven… and IT WAS SO.  Genesis 1:14, 15

And God SAW every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.  Genesis 1:31

God used His formula to create everything that exists.  It was a good work.  He didn’t have to meditate in the Word because He IS the Word.  His thought processes are pure and perfect.  Ours are not.

Our minds are bombarded with a constant stream of TV, media, and the negative flow of the world’s system.  The enemy distracts us all and tells us we don’t have enough time to spend with God in His Word.  There are all kinds of excuses.  Some of them may even be legitimate reasons why we don’t take the time to do it.

But if you want to have true success, you can’t just ‘dream’ for it to happen.  You have to make time to get into the Word and build up your faith.  Jesus wants to paint some faith pictures in you that will unveil your destiny.

So what will it be?

Take time to SAY God’s Word, MEDITATE God’s Word, and then you will OBSERVE and DO what He has for you, and you will succeed and prosper.
