Home Security – God’s Security System

We live in a time where “protection” is all around us.

We have organizations like the US Environmental Protection Agency to help protect human health and the environment.  We’ve got online fraud protection, the Bureau of Consumer Protection, and witness protection programs.  You can download virus protection for your computer.  Apple offers AppleCare protection plans for your iPod.  There’s a Greyhound Protection League, which is dedicated to protecting greyhound dogs.  Kids at schools all across America get taught about safe sex and using “protection.”  We have a Homeland Security department set up that focuses on protecting the US homeland.

Anything you can think of that’s valuable to you, someone else has thought of a way to protect it: your identity, your health, your investments, your home, your car, your kids, your dogs, etc.

As great as all of the different protection agencies and protection products are, they are not foolproof.

Satan has been around a long time now, and he can get around the protection that humans have in place.  He can figure out how to get a gun past a metal detector.  He knows how to hack into a computer system.  He knows how to talk a child into getting into a car with a stranger.

Not to mention that, as humans, we don’t always know what’s coming.  Even though we had protection systems in place, no one foresaw the Twin Towers being attacked by terrorists or the shootings at Virginia Tech.

We can’t see the future.  We don’t know what’s going to happen.  We’ve got all the physical systems in place to protect us, but that’s not enough.

We need a spiritual protection system.

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. Romans 8:26

The Holy Spirit, unlike our man made protection systems, is foolproof.  He cannot fail.  The Holy Spirit knows everything.  He knows what’s going to happen tomorrow and the next day.

One of the attributes of the Holy Spirit is that He is our Helper.  He wants to help you!  He wants to lead you so you’ll be in the right place at the right time.  He wants to help you stay away from anything that could hurt you or your family.

Maybe he’s seen a drunk driver headed down your path.  He can put a prompting in you so that you’ll take a different route home. He wants to help you pray perfect prayers to combat the attacks of Satan even though you don’t know they’re coming.

Take time every day to pray in the Spirit. You might not feel anything great and glorious.  You may feel like what you’re doing is not working.  That’s okay.  Do it anyway!  Even though it may feel pointless, the Word says it works.

Put the perfect protection system to work in your life.  Don’t count on man.  Count on God!

    Dear Ken and Trudi,

I found your wonderful site after watching Adventures in Dry Gulch ( and Gospel Bill) and being curious as to who were the wonderful inspiring ( and humorous) characters on this most creative show. Thank you for the television program and for this site. I plan to read the articles now that I’ve found you and may also order the DVD of the Adventures in Dry Gulch program. I read that the show may be staging a comeback in 2017, hopefully with the same actors and actresses. You can’t improve on perfection and this sweet show is just perfect.
Thank you for all you both do, as well as the cast of the show, to save the world. You are blessed!

    Linda
