“Who Will Reach the Children?”
My wife Trudi’s gifting flows in the prophetic. She wrote something that I really sensed the anointing on for the times we are living and wanted to share it with you, our friends and partners, this month.
“Sometimes it disturbs me how some people seem to view ministry. There is a syndrome prevalent in the body of Christ of wanting to be superstars, yet nothing could have been further from Christ’s mind and heart.
Jesus sacrificed His reputation, His fame and His life. He clearly understood His purpose…1 John 3:8 For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
It bothers me how lightly we tread underfoot His cause and pursue our own selfish desires. Being a part of the revelation of children’s ministry opened my eyes to some things and changed my life.
In the 1980s, I had a ringside seat to watch Willie George and my husband, Ken Blount, humble themselves to obey God and bring an Apostolic revelation of ministry to a forgotten group of people (children). Children’s ministry has a way of quickly sifting the real selfless soldiers from the prima-donnas.
I saw men who wouldn’t darken the doors of a children’s classroom look down their noses at this ministry, as if it were babysitting. Sadly, many of those ministries and churches don’t even exist today. They failed to see that the real future, our children, was right under their nose. Had they put their hearts into the ones who couldn’t pay them back they would have flourished and still been around today.
Today (October 30) marks 36 years since we did the first Gospel Bill Show. Ken heard these words the night before our first video taping: “Who Will Reach the Children?”, and later penned the song by the same name which became an anthem for people working with kids.
The song encouraged many, many selfless children’s workers that stood in the shadows and in the background and were rarely thanked or noticed.
I want to say thank you to Willie George, the pioneer and my husband Ken Blount, another pioneer, who walked faithfully beside him in the trenches.
Thank you, Lana Osborn who played Miss Lana. She was such a great role model for little girls. And I thank a host of others who helped produce the program.
And I want to say thank you to all the people who have gone unnoticed. They selflessly have given their lives and hearts for the little army of children that they helped train. These children grew up to stand in our pulpits today as pastors, pastor’s wives, children’s pastors, worship leaders etc.
Thank you to those who are presently training the young army of children who are growing up today. You have come into the kingdom for such a time as this.
The words to this Jewish proverb constantly ring in my ears. “If we do not indelibly, imprint the Word of God deep into the bones of our children we are one generation away from extinction.”
You have to realize you were chosen to be born at this time in history. If you are submitted to God you have the anointing, the grace and the power to reach this generation. You came to this earth full of gifts for the cause of Christ and the Kingdom.
Make sure that you leave empty.”
These words from Trudi express our heart and vision for all we are continuing to pursue and do today. During this month of Thanksgiving, we want to thank all of you that help us, financially and with your encouragement.

Thank YOU Miss Trudi for also having been a great role model for little girls. I was a child when my mom, who helped found the children’s ministry at our church discovered Willie George and the Gospel Bill show. I loved these programs and used them when I entered Children’s ministry some years ago. Though I am no longer in Children’s ministry, I am thankful my church considers this to be of the upmost importance. I’ve seen children pray healing on others and it cone to pass. I’ve seen kids give messages and I terpretations in the Spirit that were 100 percent on the money. God uses kids!!! People need to know!! Thank you, thank you, thank you for your commitment to children and families.
My childhood was infused with Gospel Bill and Ken Blount music. I am in the ministry today as a result of the Word planted deep in my heart as a child. To this day when the troubles of life come our way my husband and I will remember a song we know from Gospel Bill and it encourages us to stand strong. Ministry is NEVER wasted on children. They are our best investment. Thank you for your faithfulness. I am a life that was changed!

Love this! We left WOC in Tulsa to pursue pastoring and are currently assisting with children’s ministry in New England with around 8 kids. What a treasure to pour into these kids. It might not be the pastoring I thought I would be doing but what a true blessing to comprehend the importance of helping these little ones. Thank you for all the content you put out.
my heart is wanting to get something out ….. a cry for help!!! or a hallelujah in his great name,… but nothing comes out. A faint whisper touched my heart and memory and like it was live in my minds eyes I hear…”Elmer barnes my good buddy. well how are you doing. ” long story short i found myself here hoping to find a ray of light. i dont know how ive gotten so lost but it seems to be black everywhere. my parents was youth ministers for the first eight years of my life i met god felt his love. my dad was a royal ranger leader for all the boys of the church my mom did puppet shows and was the girls class youth minister. literally in one days time everything changed.parents seperated there was no more royal rangers or any sunday school classes. they just stopped going. didnt matter there was still kids showing up to a empty rooms. that never crossed their minds. l ran into some of them kids years down the road and seen the real damage done from their choices in THEIR lives. folks if your reading this then i just wanna make you aware that this life is not just YOUR life. others are tied to you as you are to them. any choice you make through any moment of your day you are paving the way for the next person and what they may choose themselves which spider effects everyone as a whole. Excuses are nothing more than lies. dont be like my parents whom have been living in denial, hiding behind weak excuses. KEN i ask you and every great leader of proclaiming his word, Willie george ministries, CARMAN, DC talk, kennith copeland, just to name a few more what happened to yall, stop take a step back look at your leads. Christians have not been winning. we been making excuses to explain the shrinkage of churches excuses as to explain the lack of awesome revivals that use to come around. i remember the excitement of god and celebrating his name. evil did some damage wide scale and was successful. because as i see it alot of leaders forgot they chose to lead the way, and its a miracle there are still kids showing up looking for the leaders. I hope ive sparked someones fuse. Cause this nation needs a real revival. talking about GODS GOT A ARMY>>>WHOS NOT AFRAID TO FIGHT>>>SOLDIERS FOR THE CROSS>>>> AND CHILDREN OF THE LIGHT>>>WARRIORS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS>>>>WITH HEALING IN THEIR HANDS>>> GODS GOT A ARMY AND ITS MARCHING THROUGH THE LAND>.. god bless for any feeling lost just stand strong in his name.
The Gospel Bill show was a Huge part of me and my sister’s life!!!!!!
It helped me grow in my faith and always brought the TRUE gospel of grace!! I remember when the outlaws would die on the show and Nicodemus or Gospel Bill would tell them about Jesus, and in their “final moments” they would believe and be saved! The true grace gospel is not easy to find in today’s churches. As a young, impressionable child these episodes made a huge impression on me and helped me grow!! Thank you to everyone who had a part in that ministry. I still sing the songs from the show and so jyst turned 39!

I loved a lot of cartoons and kids shows as a child–I still carry names like Optimus Prime, Chip and Dale and the Rescue Rangers, and others fondly in my heart. But Gospel Bill and Nicodemus and the people of Dry Gulch were my heroes. I have a two year old son now, and it’s been my privilege sharing recordings of the old Gospel Bill Show with him, which he loves. I made my confession of faith standing at the altar in my grandfather’s church, but where I was really first saved was sitting via screen in front of Gospel Bill’s desk, listening to the Word. I turn 39 this year, and I remember the words the sheriff said, facing down Lightning Lou Hanes–“God’s team never loses.” It was my honor having heroes like all of you–and believe me when I say that to this child, you still are.
I absolutely LOVED The Gospel Bill Show when I was a child and enjoy sharing it with my toddler now. I am so thankful for your obedience to our Lord. Is it extremely hard to find much on television that I trust for my child to watch. I get to enjoy these songs and lessons with my little guy. Thank you again and again for being there for me as a child and now my son.
