THIS WEEK’S PROJECT
Children: The Greatest Gift
Psalms 127:1 (KJV) [[A Song of degrees for Solomon.]] Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh [but] in vain.
In our last teaching we discussed the fact this Psalm is about training children successfully. We talked about how the builder is code for the father. The watchman spoken of here is code for the mother. Mothers have the ability to watch, or to see things in their children. They have a sensitivity that is a gift from God. I remember when we were raising our kids one day our son came home from school and spoke to us before he went up to his room. When he walked out Trudi said to me, “Something is bothering him. He’s upset.” I said, “How do you know that? He didn’t say anything.” She said, “I can just tell. I know him.”
Mothers just know. God has designed children to be trained and nurtured with the servant leadership of a godly father and the sensitivity and care of a mother. When you are both operating in these parental gifts you make a team of parents that can overcome anything that comes your way.
Action
Sit down together and assess how things are going with each of your children. What do you each think you could do better? What do you need to pray about concerning your children? Ask God for wisdom. He wants to help you.

We are dedicated to teaching the Word of God to build up families in these troubled days in which we live. For more info on resources that will transform, be sure to check out the tools available in the Family Resources section of our website.
