THIS WEEK’S PROJECT

Family Builders

Malachi 4:5 (NKJV) Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet Before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD.

Malachi 4:6 (NKJV) And he will turn The hearts of the fathers to the children, And the hearts of the children to their fathers, Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.”

Because of the breakdown of the family for generations, men struggle with knowing what a father looks like. Jesus came to reveal the true and eternal Father. (John 14:9). Let’s look at some father attributes Jesus walked in.

Jesus showed us that Father’s lead.

Jesus didn’t wait for somebody to tell him to pray. Jesus got up early to seek God. Jesus knew what the scriptures said. He did what God told him to do. He was bold to stand up for what was right and spoke out and acted against the hypocrisy of the day. Remember when he made a whip and drove out the money changers in the temple? (Matthew 21:12-16.) Jesus hated injustice and ran his ministry with honest integrity.

Action

How about you? As a man of your family, do you spend time reading and studying God’s Word? Do you lead your family in spiritual things? Do you talk to your children about the Bible? Have you shown them what it means to be born again? You don’t have to wait for the church to do that. As a father, you can lead your children to the Lord. Are you taking responsibility to provide physically, materially, and emotionally for the good of your wife and children? Fathers lead.
