THIS WEEK’S PROJECT

Husband’s Love

Ephesians 5:25 (NLT) For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her.

We are living in the age of distractions. There are so many things pulling at you constantly. I was at a light today in traffic. The car about 4 cars in front of me just sat there when the light turned green for at least another 15 seconds. I know why. They were on their phone. Phones, devices, politics, etc. are voices pulling at us constantly.

What are your priorities? Your relationship with God is #1, of course. But if you’re married your marriage has to be #1a. Yes, Jesus is first, but my wife is a really close #2. I must keep her close. I like to say it this way. I serve God and he talks to me and helps direct me. But the #1 voice for Jesus in my life is Trudi. Jesus speaks through her to me like no other thing. One of the ways we love our wife is to listen to her. If you’ll respect that principle and expect God to speak through her to you, he will.

Action

Are you talking to each other? Because so many couple both work now it’s easy to live separate lives. You have to work on this, but you have to connect purposely. You’ve got to turn off the noise and spend quality time talking and even praying about things together. Husband, lead in this and your wife will follow.
