Fighting for What Matters Most

July is the month that we reflect back on and celebrate the great price that our forefathers fought for, so that we Americans might live liberated lives.

But there are enemies to our country’s freedoms that are always at work. They are extremely deceptive but are ever present. We must open our eyes and be willing to fight for these freedoms if we are to preserve them for future generations.

In the same sense, Jesus purchased our freedom from the enemy of our souls. Satan’s defeat was complete when Jesus met him head on and defeated him at the cross and the resurrection. But your individual victory is not automatic. You must be willing to fight for the things that matter in life.

This fight begins with your family.

Proverbs 24:3 (NLT) A house is built by wisdom and becomes strong through good sense.

Notice, a house (or a family) must be built with wisdom. Wisdom is God’s way of thinking. The Bible tells us “God’s thoughts are not our thoughts, neither are God’s ways our ways.” (Isaiah 55:8)

Wisdom comes by changing the way we think. We are to begin to think like God thinks and then apply His thinking to the challenges we face in our marriage, raising our kids, and through the many chapters ahead as we and our children age and grow.

Here is my point: You have to continually renew your mind with God’s Word if you are going to get the results of His wisdom.

This is why our ministry exists. Trudi and I travel and preach on the subject of godly family in churches around the country. But just hearing about this subject once is not enough. You need to feed your spirit and soul on these truths to produce real change.

Because of this, we have resources that are designed to change your thinking and give you the wisdom that you need, which results in the real change you must make.

Please go to our website kenblountministries.com. Hours of free teaching are available to access that will help you, or you can also purchase our teachings that give some specific information about marriage or raising kids.

If I could recommend one thing, it would be our book, “How to Devil Proof Your Family.” It contains family principles and the story of how we built our family. It also includes prayers to pray over specific family needs you might be dealing with.

Abraham was a man that changed the culture of his family and ultimately the world. But to fulfill his mission, he had to be willing to fight and change his thinking. God wants to use you to change the world, beginning with the world of your family…IF…you are willing to fight.

Happy independence,
