Why was Abraham chosen?
Greetings to you in the mighty name of Jesus. Trudi and I are called to preach the gospel. Our special emphasis is family, marriage and raising kids. This is so important for all of us to understand if we are to fulfill the God ordained purposes for our lives.
Think about it this way. God called a man named Abraham. Why was Abraham chosen? God states his qualifications in Genesis 18:19.
“For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.”
Abraham was chosen because He led his family. He was not a perfect father and husband, just like we are not either. But the truth was, if you lived in Abraham’s house, you were going to serve God. He set the example and his family followed. Because he made family a priority God used him to produce a nation and later on the church of the Lord Jesus Christ. But it all began in his faithfulness to his wife Sarah and the children of his house.
You have to fight for your family. It’s not easy. Nobody has a perfect marriage or raises flawless kids. But I can tell you this; it’s worth the battle. Trudi and I just celebrated 48 years of marriage. My son Joshua and his wife Sarah are serving Jesus and the church they pastor, New Song Church in Oklahoma City, is growing. Lives are being transformed by the power of the gospel.
My daughter Brooke and her husband Scott have a Christian gymnastics business in Tulsa that is touching the lives of children and teenagers all over the city. Nothing gives me greater joy than to see our kids now serving God and training their own children to do the same.
The battle to fight for your family is worth it. Don’t give up. I can attest that if you are willing to keep on fighting, Jesus will see you through every challenge. He is faithful.
We finally did it! The music on our new kid’s praise and worship album is finished. We are in the process of mastering, getting the artwork done and the CDs/DVDs ordered . It will be available soon. We have many expenses to cover to get the product duplication. The final bill will be roughly $15,000.
Please pray about giving something extra this month to help us get this finalized. This music will be used by churches and families around the country. Anointed music can produce moments with the Holy Spirit that can impact a child eternally.
