The Accomplished Woman – #24
The “Accomplished Woman” is the big IF!
Proverbs 31:23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sits among the elders of the land.
The influence of a woman is a very powerful thing. I believe the old saying, “behind every good man is a good woman” is irrevocably true! The reverse is seldom the standard.
In fact, researchers have found that a good woman can many times influence a bad man to become good. But it is interesting that rarely can a good man change a bad woman. This illustrates the powerful influence that a woman wields.
As we study, men seem to represent history, whereas women seem to represent destiny.
Let me explain. The man was created first and needs the woman for many things. Without her, he is alone. She is to be a friend and companion. But woman in general, is not just necessary for the present. Without woman there is no children and without children there is no future.
Look at it this way. After the fall, Adam called Eve the mother of all living. She was the beginning of their future. God would use her to move them forward.
Satan didn’t attack Adam when he was alone. He waited until Eve came on the scene. Their marriage represented a threat to the devil and his demented plan. It seems the woman was the key to the family of God. It was woman, without a man, that started the lineage to the Messiah.
In the Hebrew language that the Old Testament is written in, the word Mother is “em.” The same word also means “if.” Interesting! So we could say that the mother is the big “IF” of the family. If the mother is a godly influence, she affects the husband and especially the children.
The destiny of a family has been determined many times by a godly, prayerful mother or grandmother. With that statement, I’m not diminishing the role of a Father. A godly father leading the family is a huge factor. But woman can keep the home fires burning in a family like no one else.
It seems that women have a natural gift as an encourager. She has an ability to build her husband up like no one on earth when she believes in him.
Woman is a great nurturer. Through the worst circumstances, she will love and not give up on her children when the whole world rejects them.
In the Hebrew language, the word “EM”, translated into English as “mother”, actually means “strong water”. If a wife and mother loves God and is devoted to Him, the whole family flourishes like a watered garden and is strong and healthy.
This woman’s husband’s potential is realized and he rises to the highest level possible. He becomes known in the gates as a showpiece in the community as a prominent godly example of family.
