Steps to Breakthrough!
Greetings this month in Jesus name. We pray that you are walking in the blessing that God ordained for us to walk in through this powerful thing called the gospel.
Gospel means good news, and the good news in essence is this: everything that Adam and Eve lost in the fall, yes…everything…the marriage challenges we all face; satan’s diabolical attacks against our children; our health issues; the finances we need to be successful…they all have been restored back to us through the cross.
“That all sounds good Pastor Ken, but if that’s true, why isn’t it working for me?” I don’t pretend to have all the answers to everybody’s problems, but let me give you a couple of thoughts:
1. You have to believe it. I love this scripture, because it takes the lid off what God will do for you… Mark 9:23 (NKJV) Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things [are] possible to him who believes.” The question is not “can God do it?” The question is, “can you believe it?” Find the promise in the Bible that meets your need and then just…believe it. It really is as simple as it sounds, but it is THE most critical part of God coming through for you. You’ve got to believe it.
2. You’ve got to make changes. What do I mean by that? I have been in the ministry since 1982. I am no longer a young man. As Trudi and I travel around the country preaching and teaching on family issues, working as family pastors in our church here in Oklahoma City, talking to pastors and leaders; I see a common denominator; people who fail to progress get stuck and stop because they refuse change. It’s not God withholding something from them; it is their unwillingness to make some personal adjustments.
The Bible doesn’t change, but methods, systems, and styles change constantly. There are different changes that you have to embrace as you age. Your marriage goes through different chapters and you have to honor them. As your children grow up, you have to treat them differently. You can’t treat a teenager the same as you do a 3-year old.
I’ll be honest. Change can be hard, but it is critical. You have to get honest and ask yourself, “Am I stuck? Are the things I’m dealing with attacks from the devil, or are some of them happening because I need to make some personal adjustments?”
Listen, if God is asking you to let go and leave something behind, it is because He has something BETTER for your future. But you have to be willing to change. Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you and open up your heart for some new ideas. Don’t get left behind with what God is doing in the earth.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NKJV) To everything [there is] a season, a time for every purpose under heaven:
Never stop believing God’s promises, make the changes as they come, and with the grace of God and the help of the Holy Spirit, you will fulfill your purpose for being here, in God’s time.
Thank you partners for believing in us.
Have a blessed June,
Ken and Trudi
