THIS WEEK’S PROJECT
Children: The Greatest Gift
Psalms 127:3 (KJV) Lo, children [are] an heritage of the LORD: [and] the fruit of the womb [is his] reward.
Children just don’t turn out right or wrong by the luck of the draw. They are a gift to your family but they must be trained. Psalm 127 is a pattern for successfully raising children. It is written in code. Let’s break it down.
Psalms 127:1 (KJV) [[A Song of degrees for Solomon.]] Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh [but] in vain.
Notice the term “Unless the Lord build the house…” The term build, or builder is code for the father. The father in the family is designed to lead in training the children. When he does he is building a foundation for the child to follow. The foundation of a building is not on top. It is on the bottom. This is indicative of a father that has a heart to serve the family. Godly fathers don’t just sit it in the easy chair barking orders. They are supposed to be the example of service, sacrificing their life for the good of the family.
Action
As a father are you involved in the details of your children’s lives? How can you be more connected to your children? As they get older older it is critical that you are involved in their life.
We are dedicated to teaching the Word of God to build up families in these troubled days in which we live. For more info on resources that will transform, be sure to check out the tools available in the Family Resources section of our website.
