Such A Time As This
So, is this a massive world conspiracy? Is this judgement for sin? Is the Coronavirus a sign that the world is about to end? Or is this maybe a precursor to the greatest move of God’s Spirit we have ever witnessed?
Whatever it is, it has certainly gotten the whole world’s attention. I have been around a few years and I’ve never seen anything quite like this.
I talked to my 88 year old mother a few days ago. She was born toward the end of the Great Depression and was a child during World War 2. She has lived through a couple of things. I asked her, “Mom, have you ever seen anything like this?” She answered in her Texas drawl, “No Kenny. I have not.”
As I think and pray about this, I am reminded of what God led me to preach about in our meetings in churches on the road last year.
Acts 2:17 (NKJV) ‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams.
Acts 2:18 (NKJV) And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy.
This is what Peter preached on the famous day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit was initially poured out. That’s the day the church was empowered so that they could take this gospel to the world. It was the beginning of the last days. Last year I talked about how God wanted every age group; young people, old people, sons and daughters, to be included in this move of God’s Spirit.
But could it be that this outpouring will happen again at the end of the last days? Could it be we are there?
Trudi and I were transformed by the massage of the Holy Spirit’s power in the Charismatic Movement in the ‘70s. We have prayed for years that our children and also our grandchildren would experience an outpouring of God’s Spirit like we did.
Those were incredible times. Trudi was healed of crossed eyes, and we saw a great surge of the supernatural power of God. We discovered that the Jesus who did miracles in the Bible still does those same things today. Could this be the catalyst for God doing something extraordinary in our days?
Whatever this is, it is not a time to be fearful and retreat. This is a time to pray and be attentive to walk with the Holy Spirit like never before. As I write this things are starting to open up. Trudi and I have, of course, been unable to travel and fulfill our itinerary preaching schedule, but we plan on beginning doing meetings again in late June.
I want to thank you faithful partners for continuing your financial support of our ministry during this time. We have even had a couple of churches increase their giving. Thank you so much.
Listen, God is going to take care of us if we will just trust Him. Things in the world are rapidly changing. Things as we knew them may never be quite the same. But Jesus will never let us down or abandon His church. Resist fear and trust in the Lord with all your heart!
Who knows, maybe we have come into the kingdom for such a time as this. (Esther 4:14.)
Blessings,
